Interaction of DNA Bases with Gold Substrates

چکیده
The interaction of molecules with inorganic substrates is a crucial issue forapplications in molecular electronics. It influences important factors suchas the immobilization efficiency and charge injection through inter-face. Moreover, mechanical aspects connected to unfolding biologicalmolecules are important. We hereby present recent efforts our group tackle these problems, based on density functional theory calculations. In particular, we discussour results adsorption cytosine Au(111) interactionof guanine, its natural size-expanded forms, small Au clusters. We find that binds surface mechanism thatinvolves sharing, intermediate between chemisorption physisorp-tion. investigation complexes guanine gold clustersreveals formation hydrogen bonds: configurations unusualbonds relevant at corners nanoparticles, while they can probably beneglected when DNA flat extended metal surfaces.

15 صفحه اولINTERACTION OF DOXORUBICIN WITH DNA-HMG1 COMPLEX
In this study, the interaction of the anthracycline antibiotic doxorubicin with DNA-HMG 1 complex was investigated employing UV/VIS spectroscopy, thermal denaturation and DNA cellulose chromatography techniques. The results indicated that the binding of doxorubicin to the protein reduces its Tm in a dose dependent manner. Although doxorubicin protects free DNA against thermal denaturation ...

The fluorescence spectrum of aqueous phenazine (PZ), an N-heterocyclic compound, shows some interesting features that indicate the formation of PZ-water complex in the excited state. Two types of complexes are postulated; Type I, formed by the association of water molecule with one of the nitrogen of PZ and Type II, formed by the association of water molecules with both the nitrogen of PZ. In a...

Molecular interaction of L-tryptophan with bases, ribonucleosides and DNA.
The interaction of L-aromatic aminoacids with bases and nucleosides is described. Of these, L-tryptophan interacts more strongly with bases and nucleosides as indicated by nuclear magnetic resonance, circular dichroism and solubility measurements. A possible ring-ring type interaction between the aminoacid and bases or nucleosides is proposed; this interaction being such that the hydrodinamic b...
